Weather Update

Seven schools in the Highlands were closed at lunch time today (Thursday) as the result of adverse weather.

They were:

Skye and Lochalsh: Portree Primary; Portree High; Plockton High; Struan Primary.

Badenoch and Strathspey: Alvie Primary School, Grantown Grammar; Kingussie High.

Dalwhinnie Primary also closed earlier in the day due to having no water.

Due to the forecast of continuing adverse weather, the meeting of the Highland Youth Voice due to be held between Friday and Sunday at Carbisdale Castle, Culrain, Sutherland, has been cancelled.

Also cancelled is the meeting of the Joint Committee on Children and Young People, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow (Friday) morning at Carbisdale Castle, ahead of the Youth Voice get-together.
