Collecting Recycling Ideas
Residents in the Tain and Easter Ross area can get support next Thursday (15 January 2009) to help keep their New Years resolution.
If your resolution is to recycle more you can find out how at the Tain & Easter Ross Ward Forum where community representatives will be hearing about a new rural kerbside recycling collection starting in the area in March. Highland Council officials will be on hand to answer any questions about it and to hear your ideas on how the Council and your community can encourage active participation in the new service to make an even bigger difference in future.
June Ross, The Highland Council’s Principal Waste Management Officer, said she was delighted the recycling service the Council offers is now extending to the more rural areas.
“We have been offering a recycling collection in local towns for some time now and this has worked really well. We are now expanding the collection to cover much more of our rural areas,” she said.
“Coming to the Ward Forum gives us another opportunity to explain what we are doing to improve our waste collection and recycling service and to get feedback from communities on these services” June added.
Kerry MacLennan from the Community Care Forum will also be attending to give the public and community representatives at the Forum an overview of their work in Easter Ross.
The Tain and Easter Ross Ward Forum is being held in the Carnegie Hall in Portmahomack on Thursday 15 January from 7.30pm to 9.30pm with a 20-minute slot allocated at the end of the meeting for questions from the public. Teas and coffees will be available from 7pm to 7.30pm.
