Scottish Hydro Electric Key Meter Replacement Programme

In the latest phase of Scottish Hydro’s  token meter to key meter rollout project in Scotland, the utility is preparing to withdraw the sale of tokens from Post Offices and PayPoints in selected postcode areas in the Highlands from Monday (15 June).

The main areas to be affected are Caithness, Lochaber and parts of Sutherland.

Scottish Hydro have indicated that the vast majority of customers have already been transferred to the new system. However, customers who have not yet transferred to the new system should contact Scottish Hydro as soon as possible to arrange an appointment to have their meter changed to a key meter.

The Highland Council Convener Sandy Park said: “We would encourage anyone living in the affected areas to contact Scottish Hydro as quickly as possible in order to arrange for their meter to be changed.”

Any customer who is without power should contact the Scottish Hydro Electric emergency number on 0800 980 0415.
