Flooding Incident at Kingussie High School

Kingussie High School will be closed to all but those few pupils sitting SQA exams on Thursday and Friday as the clean up continues following a flooding incident that closed the school today (Wednesday).

A fire hose on the first floor was accidentally disconnected as the school was cleaned at 5.30 am this morning and resulted in widespread flooding of the administration block on the ground floor.

Pupils sitting Higher Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry and Higher Gaelic were able to sit their exams but all other pupils were asked to return home.

The only pupils at school tomorrow (Thursday) will be the four pupils sitting their Intermediate Travel and Tourism exam.

On Friday, the only pupils at the school will be the 12 pupils sitting their Art and Design.

It is hoped that the school will be able to reopen to all pupils on Monday.
