Council Ranger roams in Reelig
Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger Saranne Bish is inviting people to join her on a fascinating walk to learn about the myths and history of the wide variety of trees at Reelig and how to identify them in Winter.
The walk takes place on Saturday 28 March from 2pm to 4pm.
Saranne said: “This is a lovely walk through what amounts to a wild natural garden. Full of native and exotic trees from around the world this sheltered glen could be viewed as an international exploration of the planet’s trees, some of the tallest in the UK!”
Approximately 2km/1 mile long, the walk is on built paths and fairly flat ground. Reelig Glen lies just off the A862 Inverness to Beauly road, about 8 miles west of Inverness. Leave the A862 where the road is sign posted for Moniack and Clunes – keep straight on along this road and the carpark is one mile away.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. For further information please call Saranne on 01463 710786.
