Golspie swimming pool re-opened

Golspie swimming pool has re-opened today (Tuesday 17th November) with normal opening hours after the facility was given the all-clear from contractors brought in by the Council’s Housing and Property Service.

During an assessment of the pool ceiling yesterday a number of loose spars were removed and the results of an overall risk assessment deemed the facility fit to re-open today.

Action to safeguard remaining ceiling parts will be taken over the next few weeks, outwith pool opening hours.

Highland Council’s Area Education, Culture & Sport Manager Graham Nichols said: “We are indebted to our Housing and Property Service for their prompt, and pragmatic actions which has avoided any accidents, and has also prevented any unnecessary inconvenience to pool users. The works over the coming weeks are purely a precautionary measure and will not affect the daily business of the pool.”
