New Acting Head Teacher for Golspie High School

Jim Steven, head teacher of Invergordon Academy, is to become the interim head teacher at Golspie High School.

Mr Steven will take over from Bill Irwin, who is transferring to a senior administrative post with the Council’s Education Culture and Sport Service.

Mr Steven will move to Golspie following the October holiday break.

Mr Steven, who has been at Invergordon Academy for 12 years, eight years as head teacher, said: “I am greatly looking forward to my move to Golspie and can promise the staff, pupils and parents that I will do my very best for the school.”

Mrs Sarah Whealing, chairwoman of the Golspie High School Parent Council, said:  “We would like to sincerely thank Mr Irwin for his commitment to Golspie High School over the past seven years and offer our very best wishes to him in his future role with the Council. It has always been a pleasure working with him.

“The parent council welcomes Mr Steven to Golspie and he can be assured of our support in taking the school forward.”
