City road works on Old Perth Road

The Highland Council is advising motorists that work is due to commence on Old Perth Road, Inverness on Monday 12th October to construct a new pedestrian crossing with associated footway improvements.

The road works will take place next to Corrie Lodge, approximately 50 metres from the Millburn roundabout.

The aim of the new pedestrian crossing is to improve provision for pedestrians in the immediate and wider area.

In an attempt to minimise the impact on peak time traffic, particularly at school opening and closing times, the Council has programmed the works to coincide with the October school holidays.

Temporary traffic management will be in place between 9:30am and 4:30pm each day, with possible evening work from 6:30pm onwards. The works are likely to take around two weeks to complete.

The Highland Council and contractor Pat Munro (Alness) Ltd. will monitor traffic flows, during the periods where traffic management is in place, and may make any adjustments deemed necessary to limit any disruption to the travelling public.
