Countryside Rangers organise events in Farr, Inverness
Highland Council Countryside Rangers are inviting people to try something different in the outdoors this month.
On Saturday 19 September, the ‘Outdoor Cinema’ event is taking place in Farr from 8-10pm.
People will have the chance to come along and watch ‘the Eagle Odyssey’, an amazing film by the RSPB, outside under a canopy of stars. The ‘cinema’ will be in beautiful pine woodland to the south of Inverness. Exact meeting place and directions will be given out on booking.
This free family event is weather dependent and people should bring a deck chair or something suitable to sit on, a torch and warm clothing.
Katy Martin, Senior Ranger for Inverness said, “It’s a magical setting to watch a fascinating film about our stunning wildlife in action.”
On Sunday 20 September, a Fungal Fun Day will allow people to find out more about the mysterious world of fungi in a pine wood in Farr.
“Fungi are fascinating and do a number of essential jobs for us. Without fungi the world would look very different and our lives would be very different. This free, family-friendly event allows people to find out more about these roles. We’ll also cover a little bit about identifying the common fungi.” added Katy Martin, Inverness Ranger
The free event will begin at 2pm and will last for 2 hours. Further details and the meeting place will be given out on booking.
