Recognition for Council Staff
Two customer services staff with The Highland Council have received national recognition for representing the professional face of local government to the public.
Carla Forbes a Service Point Assistant in Inverness and Alison Gudgeon, Service Point Officer in Lochinver were runners up in the Candidate of the Year, The Customer Service Professional Qualifications. These are Scottish local government’s new SQA-certificated professional qualifications and The Highland Council was the only Council to have two finalists.
Carla and Alison were presented with their awards at a recent meeting of the Council’s Resources Committee.
When making the presentation, Chairman Councillor Carolyn Wilson said the council was committed to providing quality customer service at its Service Centre, the 37 Service Points and many other offices which members of the public visit.
She said: “We are all delighted with the achievement of the ladies. I know how hard they have worked to gain their qualification and encourage other staff to get involved. Nine other members of staff are now working towards this achievement and we wish them all the very best.”
