Permit parking schemes aim to combat commuter parkers
From 1 October, resident parking schemes will relieve residents in Perceval Road as well as those living at Bellfield Park, Elm Park and Cavell Gardens of the nuisance of uncontrolled commuter parking.
On Perceval Road, which is situated between Lochalsh Road and Telford Street, any vehicles parked in the designated areas at any time between Monday and Saturday must display a valid permit on their vehicle. The road was added to the Inverness parking scheme following complaints from the residents and representations by the local Highland Councillor Christina Cumming.
On Bellfield Park, Elm Park and Cavell Gardens, any vehicles parked in the designated areas between 8 am and 6 pm (Monday – Saturday) must display a valid permit on their vehicle. On Bellfield Park, residents permit parking will be introduced on the side of the road in front of the houses only. The introduction of pay and display parking and other traffic management measures will be considered at a later time for the opposite side of Bellfield Park. The curbs were introduced there following complaints from residents and local Highland Councillor Eilidh MacDonald.
