Ace turn out for Inverness tennis camps
As part of The Highland Council’s summer activities programme, over the last two weeks, more than 60 children, aged between 5 and 12, took part in tennis coaching at Bellfield Park.
Many of the players had never played tennis before the week-long tennis camps organised by Miles Fuller, Active Schools Co-ordinator, who said that the children really benefited from the intensive coaching they received.
“It has been fantastic to see players who had previously never held a racquet before the camps, to be able to rally with the coaches by the end of the week”, commented Miles Fuller.
He added: “In previous years Active Schools have run a single, week-long tennis camp, however, due to the high demand two camps were successfully run this year.”
During each week, the players were split into teams in order that they could compete both as a team and individually in the fun tournament held at the end of the week. Certificates were presented to all participants and medals were awarded for the most improved players in each team.
