Summer hockey camp hailed a success
A three-day hockey camp recently run at Bught Park was hailed a success by the organisers, as many new players were introduced to this fast and exciting sport.
As part of The Highland Council’s Summer Activities Programme, Miles Fuller, Active Schools Co-ordinator, organised the camp with coaching from Martin Gent, lead coach with Inverness Junior Hockey Club and several older ‘Highland District’ players, ranging between 13 and 16.
Miles Fuller said: “It was great to see new players learning the basic skills to play the sport and be able to put them together in small-sided games, alongside more experienced players. It was equally good to see teenage players, who have recently gained their Level 1 coaching awards, be able to put into practice their new coaching skills.”
Inverness Junior Hockey Club meets every Saturday morning during term time at 11:00am
