Essential maintenance works in Inverness.
The Highland Council is to carry out essential works affecting pedestrian access on Ardross Street and Castle Street, Inverness.
Pedestrian access and some car parking on Ardross Street, Inverness will be affected this weekend (13 -16 August) when essential maintenance at the Northern Meeting Park commences.
To ensure public health and safety, repairs are being carried out on loose masonry around a chimney stack at the pavilion building.
A section of the pavement and two car parking spaces will be cordoned off to enable safe access for contractors to carry out the repair works. The works are expected to cost around £2,500.
From Monday 16 August a section of pavement will be closed for the duration of the week on Castle Street between the Town House public reception/entrance and the traffic lights/pedestrian crossing. The cost of these works will be approximately £4,500.
The temporary pavement closure is to allow maintenance works to be carried out on the pavements and access covers. Pedestrian access to the Town House public entrance will be signposted and will be gained by using the traffic lights/pedestrian crossing at the Castle Street/View Place junction or via Castle Wynd.
The Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
