Council approves £100,000 grant to Dornoch project

Highland Councillors have agreed to back a major new sports facility in Dornoch.

Members of the Resources Committee have unanimously supported the approach from Dornoch Academy and Dornoch Primary School Parent Councils to provide a grant of £100,000 from the Dornoch Common Good Fund, which currently stands at £176,784.

The project, estimated to cost £1.3 million, will provide a 4-court sports hall, changing facilities, storage and teaching space.  A biomass heating system is planned to be installed.

Other funding is proposed to come from Sport Scotland and Leader Programme.
