Winter Wonderland set to light up Whin Park, Inverness

The Inverness Winter Festival’s favourite event for toddlers, Rudolph’s Winter Wonderland, will be staged in Whin Park between 4pm – 7pm on Saturday 11 December and Sunday 12 December. 

The event, which is being hosted by Rudolph and his reindeer friends, will feature the illumination of Whin Park for the first time by lighting section of The Highland Council’s Transport Environmental and Community Services.  

A number of giant features are to be installed around the park and also appearing will be four of the largest calling birds ever seen in Inverness.  

The Whin Park Railway will be open on both nights and youngsters are to be invited to take part in a special Treasure Hunt on both nights courtesy of Jacobite Jess. 

Additional entertainment provided around the park by the Salvation Army Band, Fly Agaric Stilt Walkers and members of the Caledonian Canal Ceilidh Trail Band.

Councillor Glynis Sinclair, Inverness Winter Festival Working Group Member, said: “This is a wonderful event which has been designed for the smaller members of our community and those who are young at heart!  We would ask everybody who isn’t a reindeer to wrap up warmly and come and experience what is sure to be one of the highlights of this year’s Winter Festival for the younger members of our community.”
