Winter Solstice Celebration Walk
Highland Council Countryside Rangers are inviting you to walk back in time to an ancient ring cairn on the shortest day of the year between 2.30 and 4.30pm on Tuesday 21st December, just as the sun is going down.
Duncan Macdonald, The Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger in Badenoch said: “Our ancestors revered the shortest day as one of the most important in their calendar and the site on Alvie Estate that we will be walking to is beautifully positioned to see why.”
People should dress for snow and bring a torch. The paths are easy access but may be slippery. All children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The event costs £3 for adults, £2 for concessions and children.
For further information and to book a place call Duncan on 01540 673907
