Youth Convener

The Highland Council has agreed to further enhance the participation and involvement of young people, and specifically the Youth Convener, in the delivery of Council services.

The Youth Convener, who already attends the full council, Education, Culture and Sport Committee and the Joint Committee for Children and Young People, will now attend all strategic committees of the Council.

It was also agreed that all Directors should seek the views of the Youth Convener on specific and relevant issues as and when they arise to enable comments and observations at an early stage of report preparation.

The current Youth Convener is Gemma Mackintosh, from Ardersier. Her one-year term of office continues until September, next year.
