Application granted for dangerous wild animals licence
Members of the Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross Licensing Committee have unanimously agreed to grant Alladale Wilderness Reserve a licence under the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976.
The 1976 Act states that any animal listed in the Schedule of the Act cannot be kept without first obtaining a licence from the Local Authority. The first such licence was granted to Alladale Wilderness Reserve in 2007. At a meeting held today (Monday 1 February) in Helmsdale Community Centre, Members agreed to renew the licence, subject to the applicant adhering to conditions set out in the Dangerous Wild Animals Act.
