Alteration works to Fort William Service Point

The Highland Council’s Service Point at Fort William currently located on the ground floor of Lochaber House will close on Wednesday 10 February for six weeks.

The building is to have extensive renovations undertaken to bring it up to date with the Disability Discrimination Act and to improve the Health and Safety requirements for customers and staff. The cost of the project is £64,000.

The Service Point will temporarily relocate to the 2nd floor of Lochaber House and resume service on Thursday 11 Feb. A full service will be provided from the second floor, including cash collection and the Passport Interview Procedure will continue to function from Lochaber House.

Signs have been erected to guide customers to the new temporary entrance and a lift is available to the second floor for customers with a disability.

The Council anticipates that the Service Point will reopen on the ground floor in its new office by 1 April.
