Keeping New Year fitness resolutions on TRACC

People in the Tain and Invergordon areas wanting to get fit and stay in shape in the New Year will be spoiled for choice at TRACC (Tain Royal Academy Community Complex) and Invergordon Leisure Centre.

A range of swimming and fitness classes will be on offer for all those wishing to get or keep fit and keep those New Year resolutions.

At TRACC there will be an Open Evening on 27th January. From Monday 11th January the swimming pool timetable will include: swim breakfasts; quick dips; fun, open, adult and family sessions; lane swimming; aqua aerobics; stroke development classes; and happy hours. Whatever the age or ability of the swimmer, there are sessions for everyone.

Children in the 8-14 year old age range can join a ‘Rookies’ class and learn the essential skill of lifesaving. On weekdays, members of Tain Amateur Swimming meet between 3:45pm and 6pm – further information on the club is available from TRACC.

TRACC also hosts a range of fitness classes including 3rd age keep fit; cardio cycle; body tone and Pilates.

With regards to the open evening, Highland Council Facilities Manager for Tain and Golspie, Joanne Crosbie said: “TRACC is holding an open evening on Wednesday 27th Jan 2010 from 4.30 - 7pm.  The aim of the event is to promote the TRACC facility and the programme of activities available here.  TRACC Management Committee and some user groups will also be in attendance.

“It will be an informal evening where locals will have the chance to view the whole TRACC facility, see what is on offer, ask any questions and give feedback through comments and suggestions.  In the multi-purpose hall there will also be information boards and leaflets. Please just turn up.  Refreshments will be available and we look forward to seeing lots of new faces at the open evening.”

At Invergordon Leisure Centre New Year resolution makers can take their pick from fit and tone; body balance; cardio cycle; spinning; and aerotone fitness classes. To ensure that there are no excuses for breaking those New Year resolutions would be keep-fitters are encouraged to book in advance at Invergordon Leisure.
