Community council updated on Expo plans
Scotland’s Housing Expo has launched a new-look website with information about this major event which will take place at Balvonie Braes off the A9 near Inverness throughout August 2010.
Members of the Inverness South Community Council were given news of the revamped online facility www.scotlandshousingexpo.com at the latest Scotland’s Housing Expo Community Liaison Group meeting held at Highland Housing Alliance’s office on Thursday, 21 January.
Scotland’s Housing Expo website now includes a registration facility to find out more about the event and receive notification of ticket availability.
The official website provides information about the design of the attraction, which will be split in to four zones to enable visitors to find out about different elements that create the high quality design and sustainability of all the homes in the development.
The houses in this zone will highlight the best of contemporary design and showcase the best product and furniture design, with venues for design exhibitions and bespoke products.
These homes have sustainability at their core. They will highlight the best of eco-friendly interiors with interesting and unique energy efficient products and materials.
This zone will provide a taste of things to come in terms of housing and showcase the latest cutting edge products in design and household technologies.
Designed to give a window to mainland Europe. What attracts over 250,000 people to the Finnish Housing Fair? What are the clever Danes designing next? This zone highlights the best European interior design and products.
Each week of the month long event will take the theme of a zone with a range of relevant events and seminars taking place for the public and business community.
Attendees from the Community Council were also updated on the marketing strategy, as the Expo is awaiting a decision from The Highland Council regarding an application to distribute over 108,000 flyers across the Highlands which will advertise the event and ticket information.
The meeting was the third since the Liaison Group was created in September 2009. They aim to create regular dialogue between the Expo team, local ward councillors and the community by providing information and updates on the housing development and plans for the event itself.
Due to take place throughout August 2010, Scotland’s Housing Expo will be the UK’s first ever housing fair, showcasing the best of Scottish architecture and design, and placing Scotland firmly at the forefront of European housing design. The Expo event will focus upon 55 cutting-edge sustainable houses designed by the cream of Scottish architecture.
