Emergency road closure on The Black Isle
Issued at 14.40pm
The Mount Eagle road, between Culbokie and Munlochy on the Black Isle, has been closed by the Police this afternoon in the interest of public safety.
Strong winds have brought down a number of trees which in turn have damaged power lines and a further 10 trees have been assessed as posing a risk of falling.
Scottish Hydro Electric are on site dealing with the wind blown trees and the road will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.
The closure only affects the length of road in the forest and access to properties is available.
