Search for the Gruffalo in Badenoch and Strathspey
“A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark woods……”
On Wednesday 7 July children are invited to come and join mouse on his stroll following a fun woodland trail in Carrbridge that will give them the chance to meet woodland animals, complete fun tasks and crafts, and search for the Gruffalo.
Saranne Bish, Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger in Badenoch & Strathspey North said: “The Gruffalo is a fantastic children’s book that looks at the animals that live in our woods, their houses and what they eat. This fun event for under 8s will help children explore their local woods and learn a little about who lives there. After the walk the Gruffalo will be in his woodland cabin to meet the children and the other rangers and I will be helping to make some Gruffalo masks and toys. We want people to come along with a sense of fun and wonderment so they can explore these lovely woods in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park with a different eye.”
This event is most suitable for families with children under the age of eight. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The path is suitable for prams and buggies with big wheels only. Anyone wishing to come should meet at the main car park of Ellan Wood off Station Road, Carrbridge at 2pm.
The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Cairngorms National Park Authority with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the National Park, its countryside and conserving wildlife.
