Money to help with ideas continues

A scheme aimed at helping community groups access support for their ideas and projects reaches its 6 month mark next week (Wednesday 24 March).

The East Sutherland and Edderton Ward and the North West and Central Sutherland Ward have joined the Black Isle, Cromarty Firth, Tain and Easter Ross,  Eilean a' Cheò and Nairn Highland Council Wards with an easy access fund so community groups in their areas can apply for money to hire some expertise to help turn ideas in to reality.

The idea for the Community Development Support Scheme came about as Councillors were very aware that ideas for improvements were coming forward in their communities but extra help was needed to put together a project, measure community support or to help the group with specific skills.  The scheme helps groups access up to £2000 to buy in the project expertise they need.

The Community Development Support Scheme is funded by the Ward Discretionary Budget in each of the seven Wards and the Highland LEADER 2007-2013 programme.
