West Ross Ranger organises Easter Holiday events
Families looking for something to do during the Easter School holidays can join Highland Council’s West Ross Ranger on an orienteering trip “around the world” or a rock pool rummage.
At Lael Forest Garden, near Ullapool, participants can take part in a fun orienteering trail that incorporates finding tree species from all over the globe. “Around the World in 80 minutes!” takes place on Monday 29th March, from 2pm to 3:30pm.
Lindsey says: “This is orienteering for those with the travel bug. A fun trail for all the family!”
Lindsey will also be taking advantage of the Spring Equinox and will lead a ‘Rockpool Rummage’ on Wednesday 31st March from 2pm to 4pm.
During one of the lowest tides of the year Lindsey will show participants around areas of the shore that are rarely exposed.
She said: “We hope to catch a glimpse of the fascinating creatures that live in this normally hidden world.”
All children must be accompanied on both events by a responsible adult. To book places contact: Lindsey Duncan on 01854 613 904. The start and meeting place for the orienteering trail and Rockpool Rummage will be given out on booking. Wellington boots and warm clothing are strongly recommended for the Rockpool Rummage.
These events are organised by The Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers with the Planning and Development Service and are part of a wider programme of events and guided walks which aim to help raise awareness and encourage appreciation of the scenery, wildlife and heritage of the Highlands.
