Royal visit to Ross-shire
Her first visit was to Strathgarve Primary School, where excited pupils showed her their refurbished playground and the newly created eco garden in the school grounds.
HRH then traveled to Dingwall to Ross County Football Cub and the adjoining Highland Football Academy.
Ross County Chairman Roy MacGregor introduced her to members of the Board and HRH chatted to former players before being given a brief history of the club. She was then taken onto the pitch to meet the 1st team players who were in training for an important match the next day.
After chatting to all of the plays, HRH was escorted into the Highland Football Academy Indoor arena where school children from St Clement’s School in Dingwall and the Conon Kids Saturday Football Club were among the user groups all busy enjoying training sessions. There was then time to look at the Wall of Fame before a quick tour of all the facilities including the classrooms and the physiotherapy rooms. The visit ended with HRH speaking to representatives from the funders, sponsors and user groups in the Victoria Suite before unveilling a commemorative plaque and signing the visitors’ book.
