Personal favourite of Countryside Ranger
Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger Corinne Hambly is inviting locals and visitors to join her on a riverside wander on Saturday 6 November along the beautiful River Beauly.
A personal favourite of hers, the walk will start at 11am from Kiltarlity Old Church then follow the River Beauly as it gently meanders through farmland and woodland.
Corinne said: “This is a prefect autumnal walk following the river past castles on its journey towards the sea. The walk should last around 3 hours and will be at a gentle pace to allow for stories and wildlife spotting along the way, and of course there will be time to enjoy your picnic lunch.
She added: “This is one of my favourite walks in the area. Following the river and looking for winter migrant birds and checking out some archaeology along the way makes for a very pleasant day. It’s not too far and we will have long enough to take in the views as we meander along beside the river.”
The Riverside Wander, Ranger-led guided walk is on Saturday 6h November, from 11am to approximately 2pm at Kiltarlity Old Church. Price of participation is £5 for Adults, £3 for children and concessions.
The Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers run many events and guided walks which aim to help raise awareness and encourage appreciation of the scenery, wildlife and heritage of the Highlands. This wide range of events and activities is aimed at local communities and visitors alike.
