Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon

The Provost of Inverness, Councillor Jimmy Gray,  has congratulated everyone who took part in last Sunday’s 2010 Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon, Baxter’s River Ness 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, Baxter’s River Ness 5K Fun Run and the Baxter’s Wee Nessie.

Provost Gray has conveyed the Council’s appreciation to the sponsors and the large numbers of volunteers who assisted in making the event such a “huge success”.

He said: “This was a very well organised event, which was enjoyed by the thousands of participants and spectators and has had a tremendous impact on the local economy.”

He also paid tribute to the clean-up operation that was dealt with in a very organised and efficient manner. “The result of this was that within a very short period of time after the event there was little visible evidence of the thousands who had run and lined the route.”
