Delhi meets Inverness – Salsa style

Inverness shoppers were treated to a taste of Eden Court’s Delhi Dance Week as participants from the event performed a range of devised dance pieces in Falcon Square. The Delhi Dance week culminated with a spectacular gala performance featuring the participants dance creations, accompanied by a fabulous salsa night.

Among the onlookers at Falcon Square were The Highland Council Convener, Sandy Park and Provost of Inverness, Jimmy Gray, who showed their support for the Delhi Dance Week, and for the Commonwealth Games in 2014 by accepting a special Commonwealth Games Flag from the dancers.

More than 40 children have taken part in the event, including some from as far away as the Isle of Skye. Participants have benefited from three days of professional dance coaching, including the chance to learn from Noel Hernandez Roque, 2010 British Open Professional Salsa champion.
