Fujitsu assure councillors of improved performance
Highland Councillors have accepted an apology from its ICT provider, Fujitsu, about its performance and welcomed assurances that efforts are being made to successfully deliver the £66 million 5-year contract.
Ms Eithne Wallis, Managing Director of Government Business, Fujitsu, attended a meeting of the full council in response to criticisms of the company’s performance voiced at a recent Resources Committee meeting.
She answered a number of questions posed by Councillors.
Councillor Carolyn Wilson, Chairman of the Resources Committee, welcomed the company’s apology for the delay to some elements of the programme and their renewed commitment to ensure the adequate resourcing of the contract.
She said: “ICT sits at the heart of our operations and is key to achieving many of the efficiencies we need to introduce to save money. We look forward to working together with Fujitsu to get our transformation programme back on track and to making this contract a success.”
She said Fujitsu would provide weekly updates and a review meeting would be held in two months time.
