Self Directed Support seminar
More than 80 people from groups and organisations offering social care services in the Highland area attended the Creating Control: A Discovery of Self Directed Support seminar in Inverness this week (13 and 14 September).
Self Directed Support (SDS) is a flexible way of providing social care services. It enables people to have more choice and flexibility in choosing services, and allows them to manage their won support. SDS is based on working towards a set of goals identified and agreed with each person to enrich their life. Highland is hosting one of the three SDS test site projects set up and funded by the Scottish Government.
The Creating Control seminar offered an opportunity for providers of social care services in Highland to find out more about the benefits of SDS and the option to provide more personalised care services.
