Inverness West Ward Forum
“Facilities for Young People” is the main topic for discussion at the Inverness West Ward Forum on Thursday 30th September. The forum, which is open to all to attend, is being held in Kinmylies Parish Church Hall, Kinmylies Way, Inverness. Doors are open at 6 p.m. for a 6.30 p.m. start.
The Forum is to be chaired by Councillor Pauline Munro. After a brief introduction, there is to be an open discussion on the issue. Among the participants are young people from nearby Charleston Academy, Chief Inspector Andrew Maclean, Northern Constabulary’s Inverness Area Commander, and Douglas Wilby, the Council’s Senior Leisure and Learning Officer.
Following a commitment made at a previous Ward Forum in September 2009, this Forum is to include a review of the “youth shelter” at Charleston Court. Councillor Munro is hoping for a good turnout from the local community, and that the views of young people will be heard.
Councillor Munro said: “This ward forum is part of our continued commitment to working to improve facilities for local young people. I hope that members of the community of all ages will be able to attend to put their ideas and opinions to councillors and the police.”
