Community Councillors needed in Fearn

The nomination period for people living in the Fearn Community Council area to stand for election to the community council has been extended.

At the close of the recent nomination period to fill the nine community councillor posts, only two nominations were received.  These will be held over until the new closing date.

 A minimum of six valid nominations need to be received before a new community council can be formed.   If more than nine nominations are received, a postal ballot will take place.

Nomination forms are available from Tain Service Point, Fearn Hotel and Fearn Post Office.  Completed nomination forms should be returned to the Returning Officer, Carol Elliot, The Highland Council, Tain Service Point, 24 High Street, Tain by 5pm on Thursday 7th October.
