Programme of monster events in sight at Inverness Library
Throughout April, Inverness Library will be hosting a programme of Loch Ness monster events and activities for people of all ages visiting the library.
For younger visitors, four Nessie story and activity sessions will take place at Inverness Library during April for children aged 4 -10 years old on:
Monday 11th (11am – 12 noon); Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th (2pm - 3pm); and Friday 15th (11am – 12 noon).
On Monday 18 April, Provost of Inverness, Councillor Jimmy Gray will open an exhibition at the library which celebrates the Loch Ness Monster. The exhibition, which will be on display throughout spring and summer includes:
• a collection of Nessie memorabilia donated by American author and Nessie enthusiast, Jeff Paul;
• a Loch Ness photographic exhibition from The Highland Council’s award winning bilingual Highland history and culture website Am Baile
• exhibits and rare books from Inverness Library and Inverness Museum and Art Gallery; and
• newspaper articles from the Inverness Courier.
At the opening, Jeff Paul will be reading from his new novel ‘Wonder of Ness’.
On Tuesday 19 April at 2:30pm local historian and author Norman S. Newton will give a talk at Inverness Library on “Nessie: Sources and Speculations”.
