Lochardil By-Election Result

The by-election for Ward 53 (Lochardil, Inverness) on The Highland Council resulted in a victory for  Mr David Henderson, Scottish Liberal Democrat.  Mr Henderson won with a majority of 251 votes over nearest candidate, Michael Gimson, Independent.

The turn out was 53.9% with 1,172 votes cast.

The vacancy was created by the death of Councillor Margaret MacLennan, Independent.

The result was as follows: 

• John Bradford Finnie, 29 Bellfield Park, Inverness, IV2 4TA   
Scottish National Party - 212 votes; 

• Michael William Gimson, 29 Torbreck Road, Inverness, IV2 4DF
Independent - 263;

• David Munro Henderson, 9 Beaufort Road, Inverness, IV2 3NP
Scottish Liberal Democrat - 514;

• Graeme Farquarson Nicol, 5 Deveron Street, Inverness 
Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party Candidate -49;

• Fraser Fawdon Parr, 56 Grigor Drive, Inverness
Scottish Labour Party Candidate - 108;

• Robert Stevenson Rodger, 29 Ardholm Place, Inverness, IV2 4QG 
Independent - 26.
