Council and landowners work together to repair Reelig Burn drainage
The Highland Council’s TEC Services Committee has agreed to help with the repair of a drainage system which has been the source of recent flooding on the A862 Inverness to Beauly road and the village of Inchmore.
Local councillors and council officials have been working with landowners and other affected parties to find a long term solution, to what has been described as a very unusual drainage arrangement with one water course crossing each other in a culvert arrangement.
The repair works will be carried out by landowners in partnership with The Highland Council providing protections to the A862 Beauly Road and properties at Inchmore.
Local Highland Councillor Drew Hendry said it was a great example of the Council working with the local community and coming up with a solution which will provide long term benefit to all.
Councillor John Laing, Chairman of the Council’s TEC Services Committee said that it was important for the Council to work with local communities and welcomed the positive engagement from the landowners.
