Public thanked for West Link comments
The Highland Council has thanked everyone who took part in this week’s consultation on the eight options for creating the Inverness City Trunk Road - West Link.
On Tuesday 29 November, 126 people were noted as attending a daytime display at Kinmylies Church. At night, another 70 people attended an evening presentation at Inverness Leisure Centre, Bught Park.
On Thursday 1 December, 225 attended the daytime display at the Culduthel Christian Centre and 117 people attended the evening presentation at Inverness Royal Academy.
Councillor John Laing, Chairman of the Transport Environmental and Community Services Committee, who chaired both evening meetings, thanked the public for taking such a keen interest in the proposals and for their comments.
The Council has set up a Working Group to assess the options and the public response to the 8 options for taking traffic from the Dores Road, across the River Ness and Caledonian Canal to the A 82 at General Booth road.
He confirmed that no land at Whin Park or on lands at the Bught Park involved in any of the 8 options was held on the Inverness Common Good account.
He reminded the public they have until 16 January, next year to make their views known. The Working Group was due to meet again on 27 January and would present their recommendations shortly afterwards.
