School closures

A number schools in the Highlands closed today (Thursday)  as a result of adverse weather conditions.

High winds experienced to the west of the Highlands resulted in the closure of Acharacle, Achtertyre (1pm), Ardgour, Duror,Carbost (from 1.30pm), Eigg, Edinbane (12.45 pm), Elgol (from noon),  Kyle (1pm), Kyleakin (1pm), Loch Duich (lunch time), Plockton Primary (lunch time), Sleat (1.30 pm)  primary schools as well as Ardnamurchan High School, Mallaig High School, Plockton High School and Portree High School (from noon).   

Kingussie High School is closed as the result of a heating failure.
