Transport focus of Easter Ross Ward Forum

Community Transport and the Dial-a-bus service is the topic of the Tain and Easter Ross Ward Forum being held on Wednesday 9 February.

Members of the public are invited to attend the Forum to find out more about the work of the Council’s transport team; Community Transport and the Dial-a-bus Service and how they are likely to change as the Council’s budget comes under increasing pressure.  The Tain, Nigg and Fearn areas currently benefit from a subsidised taxi as part of the Dial-a-bus service.

Also attending the Forum will be Steve Walker, Stagecoach’s Managing Director, who will briefly outline proposed changes to the 25, 25X and X99 services in the area from 25 April 2011 and Sheila Fletcher, Chair of the Ross-shire Transport Forum.

The Tain and Easter Ross Ward Forum is being held in the Seaboard Memorial Hall, Balintore, on Wednesday 9th February from 7.30pm to 9.30pm with a 20-minute slot allocated at the end of the meeting for questions from the public.  Teas and coffees, hosted by the Balintore and Hilton Community Council, will be available from 7pm to 7.30pm.

Every Community Council in the Tain and Easter Ross Ward and other representative community organisations are members of the Ward Forum and have the opportunity to feed the views of their community into the subjects being discussed.
