Inverness West Link options attract 600 responses
Transport officers of The Highland Council are sifting through more than 600 responses made by the public on options for the proposed Inverness West Link project, which envisages a new transport link from the Southern Distributor Road at Dores Road to the A82 trunk road at Torvean via a fixed link across the River Ness and the Caledonian Canal.
The responses to the consultation, which will be acknowledged in due course, will inform the next steps in this important process.
Neil Gillies, Director of Transport Environmental and Community Services, said: “The early public consultation on alternative solutions for this project has proved most useful and the Council would like to thank all those who have taken the time to attend meetings and to write in with their comments. The level of interest has indicated how important this project is to the people of Inverness."
Two public meetings and and two daytime exhibitions were held in December of last year to gauge opinion on options for providing the new transport link.
