Bonus activities for young people at Dingwall Fusion event

On Saturday 22 January in Dingwall Leisure Centre young people S1 to S6 will be able to take in a range of exciting and fun activities as part of the Fusion project run by The Highland Council’s Youth Development team.

Fusion aims to provide young people with positive activities at the weekend.  For this event as well as the usual activities that can be found at Dingwall Leisure Centre including football, swimming, fitness suite there will also be extra new sessions which should prove popular with young people.

These include a swap shop where young people can bring any unwanted clothes, accessories, cds/dvds and swap them for something new.  For budding artists there will a sculpture workshop where young people can work with artist Charlotte Mackenzie to create a sculpture to be displayed in Pefferside park.  For those wanting some pampering there will be a nail bar with professionals giving top tips and the chance to try new styles during hairdressing sessions.

Highland Council Youth work staff will be at the event along with Youth Work staff from Ross Shire Women’s Aid who will have a stall with healthy relationship information and staff from Youth Action will be on hand with information on drugs and alcohol.

Free transport will be available for young people living outwith Dingwall and this can be booked through the main office at Dingwall Academy.
