Installation works of Faith, Hope and Charity statues

The Highland Council is advising motorists that work will begin on Monday 31 January to install the Faith, Hope and Charity statues at Ness Bank Gardens, Inverness.

The three nine foot statues, that once adorned the roof of an Inverness High Street draper’s store, will overlook the River Ness, having been returned from Orkney where they spent time in the ownership of a private collector.

Temporary traffic restrictions will come into force from Monday 31 January until Friday 11 March, or at least until the works are completed.

The restrictions will temporarily close to traffic the link road between Castle Road and the Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road. Alternative routes for vehicles will be available.

Contractor for The Highland Council is Nicolas Boyes Stone Conservation Ltd. The company has carried out the complete works from uplifting the statues from Orkney to full restoration and then installation of plinth and erection of statues.
