Woodland adventures with Winnie the Pooh and The Wild Things

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are inviting families to come and join them in the woods next week to have fun meeting some well loved characters.

On Wednesday 20th July at Shenval in Glen Urquhart, Winnie the Pooh and friends have left lots of activities for young children to join in with.  Starting any time between 1.30pm and 2.30pm families can come along and have a go at finding Eeyore’s tail, help Kanga find Roo and sort out all the woodland babies that have been mixed up.

All activities are inspired by AA Milne’s beautiful books and are suitable for 10 year olds and under.  The paths are forest tracks and can be steep in places but are manageable with a big wheeled buggy if people want to bring younger children.  The event costs £3 per child.

On Friday 22nd July the wildest of the Wild Things will be at Tom Baraidh woods in Kingussie.  Anyone brave enough to venture into the woods not knowing who they may meet should come along at 1.30pm to join the Ranger for a guided walk to discover who The Wild Things are. This event is based on Maurice Sendack’s book, so why not come along and be like Max and head off on an adventure.  £3 per child.
