Bats in Balnain

A night of batty fun is being organised by Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers on Saturday 2nd September 8-10pm in Balnain.

A short presentation by the countryside rangers in Balnain Hall will be followed by a stroll down to the river in search of these amazing creatures.

Mairi Nicolson, Highland Council’s seasonal ranger for Inverness said: “This is one of our most popular walks, people are just batty about bats.  Bats are often seen at night but on this walk we will be using specialised bat detectors that really add to the experience.”

This event is organised as part of The Highland Council’s Planning and Development Services countryside events programme.  It is open to family groups and individuals, and is free to attend.  No booking is required.

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Scottish Natural Heritage with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and conserving wildlife.
