Dingwall Pool repairs agreed
The Highland Council’s Resources Committee has agreed to urgently proceed with plans to repair the roof of Dingwall Leisure Pool at an estimated cost of £600,000.
A target re-opening date of February 2012 has been set by the Housing and Property Service, who hope to award the contract in August.
Members of Dingwall and Seaforth Ward are delighted that the repairs have been given a priority and that urgent action has been taken to award a contract and obtain permissions for the works.
The structural timber beams and the roof deck have suffered from serious water damage over time, forcing closure of the pool.
The remainder of the leisure centre remains in use and is unaffected by the failure of the pool roof.
