Banavie pupils are top of the hoop in Fort William netball league

Banavie Primary School girls have once again asserted their dominance at Fort William's annual Primary Schools Netball Tournament.

The team played well together and won each of their matches convincingly to take the 2011 title.  In second place were Caol Primary and third Inverlochy Primary.

Banavie also won this year's netball league, which started in March, in which every school plays each other in a round robin format.  They were presented with their trophy and medals at Tuesday's tournament.

Highland Council’s Active Schools Co-ordinator Bridget Thomas said: "The standard of netball was very high and we hope that all the P7 girls will carry on playing once they go to high school next year.  It's encouraging to see how many younger girls were playing, which bodes well for some strong teams and a good competition next year.  A huge thanks go to all the coaches."
