New Head teacher for Wick North Primary School
The new head teacher of Wick North Primary School is Ms Wendy Scollay who is currently head teacher at Kilchuimen Primary in Fort Augustus.
Originally from Wick and a former pupil at Wick North Primary, Ms Scollay starts as head teacher at the school in August for the new term. She previously worked as depute head teacher in Cauldeen Primary Inverness, and was a class teacher and support for learning teacher before becoming depute head.
She said: “Taking up the post of head teacher of Wick North is a real privilege. I am looking forward to returning to my roots and working with the children, parents and staff and to giving back to the community the excellent Primary education I received as a child.”
Welcoming her appointment, Mrs Debbie Lee Chairperson of Wick North Parent Council said: “We are delighted in the appointment of Wendy Scollay for the head teacher position at Wick North Primary. Ms Scollay is full of enthusiasm for her future role and we as parents on the School Council look forward to working with her towards the success of the school in future.”
Wendy will replace former head teacher Denis Lundy and Maureen Miller Head Teacher of Keiss Primary who provided a temporary cluster headship support for Keiss and Wick North Primaries.
