Temporary traffic restrictions on the U1177 Foyers road

The Highland Council is advising residents in Foyers and motorists who use the U1177 road of an enforced closure next week.

The closure on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 June is required to allow work to safely proceed to replace the existing penstock pipeline which services the Lower Foyers Power Station. 

The contractor is Morgan Sindall PLC. 

The road, will be closed between its junction with the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road and its junction with the U2823 Diversion Over Temporary Bridge Road, Lower Foyers. 

Vehicles requiring access to properties fronting the section of road to be closed are exempt from the restrictions at the discretion and by the instruction of the contractor.  

Alternative routes for vehicles will be available using the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road, the privately owned Lower Foyers Power Station Road and the U2823 Diversion Over Temporary Bridge Road, Lower Foyers. 

These restrictions come into effect on Tuesday 28 June 2011 and will remain in force until Wednesday 29 June 2011, or at least until the works are complete, whichever comes first.
