Road Closure On Waterloo Place

Drivers and members of the public are being notified by The Highland Council that part of Waterloo Place in Inverness will be closed from 19:00hrs (7pm) on Thursday 11th August 2005 until 07:00hrs (7am) on Friday 12 August 2005.

The temporary closure will affect westbound vehicular traffic only, on the section of Waterloo Place, Inverness between its roundabout junction (Shore Street) with the Glasgow – Fort William – Inverness Trunk Road (A82) and its junction with Riverside Street.

Pedestrian and emergency vehicle access will be maintained.

This temporary part road closure is being made in the interests of public safety during sewer re-lining works in Waterloo Place.

Two way traffic flow cannot be maintained, due to the location of the works with their proximity to Shore Street Roundabout. Traffic heading towards Waterloo Bridge, from the town, will be directed to follow a diversion route. Traffic flowing from South Kessock and Merkinch into town will be unaffected.

An alternative route for vehicles will be available using the Glasgow – Fort William – Inverness Trunk Road A82(T) (Part), Telford Street, Lochalsh Road, Pumpgate Street, Grant Street and Waterloo Place (Part).

A Public Closure Notice comes into force at 19:00hrs (7pm) on Thursday 11 August 2005 and will remain in force until 07:00hrs (7am) on Friday 12 August 2005.
